Lift the Lid Mental Health Walk 2024
On the 16th of October 2024, our team at Tashly Consulting participated in the annual Lift the Lid Mental Health Walk through the Rotary Clubs of Magill Sunrise and Campbelltown. Tashly Consulting has been a proud bronze sponsor for this event since 2023, and we look forward to participating each year. This year, it was announced the 2024 Walk and associated activities raised an amazing $18,156, which has been donated to Australian Rotary Health.
For those who aren’t aware, Rotary is a service-based organisation, where their mission is to provide service to others, promote integrity, and advance world understanding. With 1 in 5 Australians suffering a mental health disorder (ABS 2023), this initiative aims to aid in raising funds for mental illness research along with raising awareness and walking to support people who have loved ones, or who are themselves, struggling with mental health.
From a study conducted by the Australian Bureau of Statistics , we can see that mental struggles affect a significant portion of Australians’ lives.
- 42.9% of people aged 16–85 years had experienced a mental disorder at some time in their life
- 21.5% of people had a 12-month mental disorder, with Anxiety being the most common group (17.2% of people aged 16–85 years)
- 38.8% of people aged 16–24 years had a 12-month mental disorder
