Tash, our Chief Bean counter, was fortunate to be nominated in three categories including: Quite Achiever Award, Member of the Year and Business of the Year…   Tash ended up taking home the All Rounder Award, recognizing her contribution to Sass Place and the members of the Sass Community. Tash has assisted many of the business owners with general queries surrounding their bookkeeping, provided 1:1 training and also ran an “Introduction to Cloud Accounting using Xero” workshop from the Sass Place boardroom.  The other winners on the night included a great line up of women in business.

Carly Thompson-Barry, Sass Place founding director, experimented with broadcasting the event live online using Periscope video streaming. Periscope is owned by social media giant Twitter and provides the ability to stream live video for iOS and Android devices. Using technology, Sass Place enabled fellow Sass members who were unable to attend the special occasion, as well as members from the broader Periscope community, to be able to login live and listen firsthand to the presentation. Periscope is another example of how technology can be used effectively to bring people closer together.
